Life on the Texas-Mexico border: The Last Bastion of the Old West
In Redemption, Hepcy confesses to Agent Castillo that she paid to have her juvenile record expunged so that she could join the Marines. He asked her how she had learned to control her behavior and she tells him she writes her impulses down in spiral notebooks. Vindicating her predators on paper makes her feel powerful in real life. These notebooks are intensely personal so she doesn’t share them with people in her life. But participants in The Zug Life can read some of her entries here and glimpse the inter-workings of her mind.
